What is Toughening?

What is toughening? What is the procedure? It is related to EN8 material. Due to this EN8 hardness becomes 25 to 30 HRC

Dear Pankaj,

Toughening is the process of developing the qualities to resist Shocks and Cracks under sudden impact or load. Steel has the property of being hard as well as tough. An anvil is the best example among the tough tools.
