I know d trimmers and how they function... Trimmers only cut or trim grasses 2 a low level... But this is expected 2 literally remove d weeds from d roots out from d soil... Will b used in gardens 2 replace the hoe...

Start with something like this. Substitute a flexible shaft, some sort of blade and add a sling.

Might not be much of a market for a shoulder slung weeding machine though
