UL Flame Test

04/25/2010 2:23 AM

(1) I would like to get a guidance on the properties of PVC & HFFR jacketing compound required in a 4P Cat5 or cat6 cable which is required to pass the flammability test for UL ratings of CMR (UL 1666) & CMG (FT4) respectively. I think LOI is one index but how much for which test and is there any other parameter.

(2) Other than the compound property which are the other factors which will effect the passing of the flammability tests of CMR (UL 1666) & CMG (FT4)cables.

I do not know the details of these specifications, but if you obtain any information from anywhere other than Underwriters Laboratories or any posting site acknowledged by them, (we are not acknowledged by them, although some members maybe) then you may end waisting your time. Now if you bring pertinent approved reference material for us to translate or explain their standards, then we may be able to help. But remember, anybody can sign-up to post in this community, at least once. There is no credential standard for membership here and therefore no authority granted to any of our comments outside of this location in cyberspace.
