Fire wall in Dyke wall

Why fire proof wall is provided in dyke wall of tankage area?? If its height depends upon height of dyke wall or generally we take it as 600mm only?? Thanx in adv.

It is to have partitioning in the dyke so that the height of the dyke wall is for the biggest container stored in it and not for the entire volume. its mostly done in storing fuel oil tanks having more than 1 tank in it.
