Computer Security RAM

02/20/2007 10:09 AM

I gave away my old computer system. I removed the hard drive, is possible to access personal information from memory chips or any where else on the mother board?

I think you are safe. There is some semi-permanent memory on the motherboard - which holds your bootup code - but there's no personal info there. Anything in your RAM disappears when you remove power.

Only HardDisk; Floppy; Zipdrive etc which are permanent Storage devices be kept for security purpose.

RAM [memory] can not hold any data when not connected to power.
