Charpy Test Dissimilar Materials

06/08/2010 6:44 AM

I just have received the results of charpy test on coupons with dissimilar materials, specifically P5A (T22) with P4 (T11) (SA335). The tests were realized to 0 º but I do not find values of reference (Jules) to check the acceptance criteria. There are not reference values in ASME II, ASME IX neither ASTM SA 335. Someone can orientate me on this.

Usually you will not find Charpy requirements on ASME Sections II or IX. The requirements on notch impact test are imposed by the "DESIGN" Code, so you should look Sections I, III, VIII, etc. whatever be the applicable to your specific case.

Kind regards
