Designing a 'Stealth' DAB Radio Circuit with PC Presets

06/15/2010 8:07 AM

Okay, so I have an old vintage radio that no longer works, but I'd like to stick a DAB cct inside.

It would have standard volume/tone controls, but the tuner pot would instead step through say 8 preset stations perhaps with subtle lights to mark where the user is along to band. Presets would be selected or change via PC front-end on usb OR (maybe simpler) a plug-in lcd display-in-a-box.

Can a circuit like this be easily built or converted from a current set (or chip/board)?

Thanks.

You could try this Atmel IC http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resources/prod_documents/doc9130s.pdf
