EN8 Equivalent material

Anybody can tell me the eqivalent grade to EN8 which is available in INDIA?

in my opinion C45 grade available in india . i have procured C45 in place of EN9.

you may check with properties.

En8 is one of the more easily available materials in India.

Pls ask your local material supplier.

If you cannot get En8 I doubt if you can get any material at all!

Perhaps it is called by a different name outside of India. In the US, it is AISI 1040. See this link.

The newer UK designation is 08M40

it's medium carbon steel. it's desity is 7.8kg/m3
