Not absolutely sure, but when a previous stage temp is high this could be due to worn or leaking piston rings, this would therefore suggest that you have leakage from your HP stage into your LP stage due to worn piston rings?
Regards JD.
PS just looked up ATLAS COPCO ZR315, I see it is a twin screw compressor, don't have experience with this, but a Leakey higher stage may be looked at?
Without looking at the thing itself or seeing diagrams, the first thing that comes to mind when the temp on a compressor starts getting high is, is the inter-cooler clean, or is it clogged with dust? Always start by eliminating the stupid stuff.
You don't say what the output pressure is but it certainly seem to me that the intercooler is blocked, either internally (accounting for the low intercooler pressure) or externally from dust, oil or any other prevention of airflow for cooling. If i'm not too mistaken, your intercooler pressure should be the same, or very near the operating pressure.
You haven't specified whether your warning indication is LP inlet or outlet temperature. In either case, check your maintenance log and perform routine maintenance, especially cleaning of intercoolers. Change oil and filter as specified. If over temp. warning persists, check temperature sensor. If the problem still exists, call for repair.
