A load swing test is normally done after commisioning or after the statutory test, or after modifications/major repairs were done. It simply entails getting the boiler up to full pressure whereupon it will switch to low flame condition before switch-off. Apply a light load on it. ie. a load that will not force the boiler to switch to high flame. After a set time, typically 30 minutes, apply a heavy load on the boiler and note how long it takes before the boiler switches to high flame. The important fact here is if the boiler can maintain its rated output. ie. it must not run out of steam. You may also Google "load swing tests" and get more info. Your Boiler supplier can be more specific on your boiler.
