Good Information on Smart Positioners?

I have been taxed with writing a short course covering digital valves and general smart field instrumentation. Could anyone guide me to some good information on smart positioners?

This isn't really my area of expertise, but an internet search of "smart positioners" did produce a number of good hits to documents and presentations. Additionally try smart position manufacturers websites (fisher, Emerson, ABB, Honeywell, Siemens, etc) for more information (both general, detailed and product and technology presentations).

You should find that most of the work is already done for you.
