Because you need to leave some extra capacity, just in case someone needs to plug a jug in to make a cup of tea.

Check out for the following cases

1) Optimum capacity may be 80% to maximise efficiency

2) What is the engine capacity ????

Hi Guest,

For safety consideration of your DG as sometime we have unexpected abrupt load.

DG Set are of two types:

1. Prime Units: which can be loaded for 100% for full time and can take nearly 105% for a short period based on Manufacturer standards.

2. Standby Units: Which can be loaded for 80% only and can go a Max. of 90~100% for a short period based on the manufacturer's standard. (this is very less might be 1 hour)
