Main Coil in Fan

Inside fan there are two coils (inner and outer coil )among them which is main coil?

Inside a fan are the fan blades or a squirrel cage blower, a motor, some switches. Now a common motor found in a fan is called a shaded pole motor, pictured here:

As you can see the copper colored wires at the bottom would be considered the main coil for this motor. The two coil turns of silver colored wire at the upper left part of the motor are the shaded pole windings.

Now your fan may not have this type of motor, there are many types of motors. Also fans are used in many different machines that have other coils in them, so I may not be answering your question.

The coil which has less resistance is the mail coil & other is starting coil.
