why the value of current in star delta starter is 1/3

The contactor that shorts the Star points of the motor during starting can be sized to 33% of FLC, but that's because all it is going to carry is that Star current. generally though because it needs to be mechanically interlocked with the Main contactor, the mechanical interlocks end up requiring them to be the same physical size.

For your future reference;

When you first post an image in this forum, they give you handles on the image to allow you to change the size before finalizing the post. You can also still do it in Edit for the first 15 minutes after posting. That's handy when you can't read something or when you don't want it to be so big.

sorry for the disappointment guru, i really dint want tht to happen.....jus had no patience to wait n edit... jus uploaded watever i could....

cant u view the image after u save it in your comp.......is it tht bad....i havent checked it myself....
