Chevron Rollback Wiring

08/14/2010 4:42 PM

hello all i am looking to find a diagram for the wiring on a chevron bed. Just the lights on the side of the bed don"t work. the junction boxes or at the front of the bed where the wire ovioisly has been cut.. I did find a junction box which is loc ated just above the axel diferential. now the trick is how do i run the wire from the fron to the back with out having it pulled appart ? i am assuming it has to run with the hydrilic lines through the tubing of the bed. but i was wondering if there was another way.. if any of this makes sence please help hahahah

You don't need a diagram, you need a snake. NO not a live snake, an electrician's snake. If the wire ends are visible, you may have a short cut available. Tie a section of rope to the broken/cut end, and pull the other end of the wire till you have the rope. Now replace the cut section of wire with new wire of the same color, and size. Make the rope to wire transition as smooth as possible. Now pull the other end of the rope back and when the new wire comes out, make a perfect connection to the remainder of the original wire. Now go to the back, and join the end of the new wire to the remainder of the original wire back there also. Another perfect connection again. Good luck . Let us know how it goes.
