What kind of wind turbines that do not need a gear box?Are these of the MWT size?Who builds these gearboxless turbines?

I believe there is a move towards hydraulic systems, with the turbine driving a low-speed hydraulic pump in the nacelle, which feeds a high-speed hydraulic motor driving the generator at ground level. Try googling it.
