Somewhere around 600# is max load for 3/8" mild steel TR.

I'd limit the load to 1/2 that value if there is no flexing or sideways movement in service.

Be safe.

Thanks. I'm a builder and we are hanging 4 300#chandiliers. We have existing steel trusses to attach to. The bottom chord consists of two 6x6x3/8 angles back to back with a 3/8" space between the verticle legs...thus the 3/8" all-thread. We will use two per chandilier plus 7/32" air craft safety cable tethered to the top chord.

I'm not qualified to advise you, and knowing where you are would help.

I can do things back on the farm that I can't do in town.

Will it be inspected by anyone?
