Reg:KWH Calculation

Dear sir,

Good day to you,

I have 3phase/4wire CT operated energymeter i don know how to calculate kwh consumption CT RATIO-1600/5A.so kindly explain to me how to calculate.

CT RATIO 1600/5A = 320 multiplier. Read the KWH's from the meter and multiply by 320 for the total. EG meter reading = 1000 kwh x 320 = 320000 kwh's

I assume you have no PT's.

This is not always true, there are other factors needs to be considered for getting the correct multiplying factor.

NORMALLY the energymeter is rated for a specific CT Ratio: that is, there will be a recommended CT ratio for it, or, if it is programmable, you set it for a particular CT ratio. THEN the displayed value of kWh is the acctual consumption either for a period (if the meter is displaying the cumulative consumption) or the Instanteneous consumption if displaying such. If it is a digital meter, ther will be a p?button to set the display for either. You don't need to ca;lculate or multiply anything UNLESS the CT used is different from the required CT ration for the meter(setting) in use. then it is a matter of converting the values using the old rule of 3 in math...
