Hello everyone,
I have a scenario: I have an equipment rated 120V. It uses a stepdown (120/24V) transformer to generate a 24V AC that is later rectified to 24V DC. Total load is rated 65W. However, I have only a 240V supply available. I am unable to replace the step down transformer with one for 240/24V. So I decided to install another step down transformer for 240/120V (which can supply a maximum load of 100W) whose 120V output is the input to the 120/24V transformer.
Please help me figure out the total load. Will it be (65W+losses for the new trnsfrmr), or it is something like (65+65=130W!!)?
What is the correct (or closest approximation) total system load? ie. what is the total power consumption for transformers in series?
