GD Square Value

How to find a GD square Value of Simple Wheel of outer dia 500mm, inner dia 200 mm, Width 180mm and mass of wheel is 193 Kgf. Please explain in detail because i am unaware about GD square Value.

There may be some confusion about terminology here. I'd like to think that I'm fairly competent and I've never heard of a "GD square" value. That being said, I have been taught what a mass moment of inertia is and with the given info that seems to be what you're looking for. Please advise......

Thanks for ur comment. Ya u r right Mr. Chaotic. Its a Mass Moment of inertia...So please describe in detail how i can find the mass moment of inertia of the same wheel.

In this case, the second one (cylinder) is the one you need.

I = M * (R1^2 + R2^2) / 2

I = 193 kg * ( 0.5 m ^2 + 0.2 m^2) /2

I = 27.985 kg m^2

The only thing I didn't see on the web page was the general definitions in integral form. The definitions are

Ix = (integral) y^2 dm

Iy = (integral) x^2 dm

Iz = (integral) (x^2 + y^2) dm
