Polyline Length in AutoCAD 2006

Hi,

Some times your text info window may be turned off, or hiding somewhere .....

Try "Pedit" command, convert line, then join other sections, then list .......

That works for me Acad2011 and lesser ......

Also when closing areas if they are not on the same x,y & Z, it will not close ...

Trap for young players ...... happy drawing !!!!

Just type li instead of list.

You might try selecting the polyline, right-clicking on it and selecting 'object properties'. This gives you a length and, if it's a closed polyline, an area as well. You don't have to scroll through the pages of gibberish that 'list' gives you either.

does this happen only with polylines?

I am assuming you are completing the polyline with the enter key before invoking the list command.

I could not recreate your problem on my machine, so I may not be much help,but....

try reloading autocad either through the windoze control panel~program~program features~autocad~repair ---or---- reload from original disk.

you might try searching the autocad web site for a service pack that may have escaped your attention.
