Fluid Consumption

09/11/2010 8:10 AM

How to size fluid inlet flow to a pan containing emulsion with a roller supplying fluid to yarn . The roller is dipped in pan and the fluid is suplied to pan to maintain its level. We know fluid consumption on yarn as 0.5 kg/hr. And emulsion roller dia and length is 0.5*0.5 ft with rpm as 10.

With the fluid level in the pan as your reference, this level can be used as a set point for control of inlet flow. you will need to determine what type of level sensor is compatible with you emulsion. These level sensors can be as simple as a mechanical float valve or as complex as capacitance, radar, ultrasonic etc.

It should be sized to provide 0.5 kg/h. Is this homework?
