Grant?

Grants for individuals, ( at least from the govt), won't happen. You may want to look into private grants from organizations that specifically deal with the disabled.

If you plan on making money from your idea, at least file a provisional patent app.

Before revealing your idea to anyone, download some non-disclosure forms, ( available free on the internet), and have them sign them.

If you just want to help the disabled, you can tell anyone.

If you do think your idea is commercially viable, file a provisional, (drawings are fine, you don't need a prototype), and start contacting wheelchair manufacturers.

go to www.edisonnation.com, they are a forum of inventors who can help direct you. they also have product searches occasionally for different companies perhaps one of them might apply to yours. Whatever you do, do not go to matthew lesko website, all of the information he has that you pay for can be obtained free from the government.
