Could someone educate me, if by adding glass as a filler to PP (polypropelene) plastics, will it affect its food grade?

  • Glass is being allowed in food as an additive in many cases. However you may have to know the complete composition of the glass and make sure that there are no heavy metals and other chemicals that are banned.
  • When you use glass as a filler--Assure that glass is not coming out of the PP
  • SiO2 (Silicon Dioxide) is being used in Ketch-up, Tomoto Paste and other foods as rheology modifier---
  • I say--it is acceptable for food grade applications--Please check for the composition
