why we are using star delta conversion in induction motor based on the load.

Load characteristics are considered when selecting the star/delta starter when high inrush current and start-up torque are undesirable due to limited source or delicate load configurations.

thank u sir,

we r using star configaration for reducing starting current, and now i want 2 know "upto 40% load star configaration is more efficient than the delta configaration"-why it's happened,,and i want mathematcal calculations.

The REAL answer? Because there is an institutional lie that we all agree to participate in that says that Star-Delta starting accomplishes the task of reducing starting current and torque when in fact all it does is satisfy regulators that insist on doing something about it, and satisfies it in the least expensive way.
