10/01/2010 9:13 PM

I have a client how was talking about micron imaging and I do scanning for them now on a Celsis 6250 but they are normal scans (406.4 res). What do i need to do or how do I convert my scans to microns.

What you need to do is map pixels in the scanned image to microns in real world. To compute the mapping factors you will first need to scan a known 'master' - for example a graticule. You can then easily compute both X and Y mapping factors. If you already have software for scanning you can add a small module to it which will do this mapping for you. Since mapping factor computation is going to be a one time (at worst infrequent) activity you can have the user place a few boxes on the image and then the software can easily compute these factors.
