AC Motor Type

Could you please inform me about the mains AC single phase motors used by Drill machine,Grinder machine ?

OK, I'll bite.

They are AC motors.

They take AC power and convert it to rotational motion.

Rotational motion is useful in things like drill machines and grinders.

Synchronous,Induction,.......etc.

99% will be asynchronous induction motors, also known as "Squirrel Cage Induction Motors" or SCIMs. Within that genre there are several sub types and depending on WHAT KIND of tool you are talking about, different sub types are used. For example a grinder would just use a standard SCIM but it may be a Split Phase or a capacitor Start type. A Drill PRESS is usually similar, but a hand drill would typically use a Universal Motor with is a modification to a SCIM that has brushes and a DC armature.

It all depends on the desired goal and the trade-offs required to get there: high or low speed, high or low torque, starting torque to overcome friction or higher efficiency etc. etc. etc.
