Pipe Flow

air flows through a pipe of internal dia D1 at pressure P1, flow Q1.
the diameter of pipe uniformly increases to D2, what is the effect on pressure and flow. how can P2 and Q2 be determined ?

I suggest you to go through your text books or apply simple CS for such questions. Howevere I reply as follows:

1. Q1 = Q2, as same quantity of air per unit time passes through both the points.

2. P1 > P2, as downstream pressure will always be lower than upstream in pipe flow.

If Q = 0, then P1 = P2

I suggest to have a look at what Bernoulli wrote, with other words the sum of energies (potential + kinetic) is a constant if losses are neglected and fluid incompressible.

Here Bernoulli's law will not be applicable, because air is compressible.
