Testing or Analysing of Na , Ca & Li Ions

10/13/2010 7:01 AM

can any body suggest me how ph turbidy & toc testing should become helpful in my zeolite ion exchange process we are ion exchanging zeolites granules (sodium alumino silicates) with lithium & calcium , so we have to analyze Na , Ca , & Li ion concentration much more time , so please suggest me an analytical instrument that can analyze these ions fastly easyly & very user friendly.

Flame photometry is the most straightforward, but the initial instrumentation cost is high.

Ion selective electrodes can work, but they are complex to use and standardize, and can be confused by the presence of other ions, such as Mg+2.

Ion chromatography will also do the trick, but again, there's that instrument expense problem.
