Oil & Gas Well

10/17/2010 11:58 PM

Dear All,

This is related with oil & gas well.

Anyone can expalin me that 90 degree deviation in oil/gas well possible in one go, without going a degree per 30 metres as per directional drilling calculation?

How do you get the drilling string to turn at a 90° angle in less then 1° per 30 meters?

Its rigid straight pipe, most in 30 foot lengths. Its not going to happen.

Even if you forced it to turn sharper then you start to mechanically work stress the pipe. If it breaks off then you got a problem of fishing it out. To start over!
