Motor Testing

Can any one help me to give some reply of the following question. If a motor is burn out how will i know this? i.e. by which method should I follow to be confirmed or which instruments or apparatus should I use to detect this problem?

Look at it. Is the shaft going round and round when the motor is energized?

The first thing you'll probably notice with a motor burn out is the smell, it's horrible!
After that you will need to do IR & CR tests.
