You might write a theoretical paper on the efficiency of combustion engine! I suggest:

  1. Find what really causes the inefficiency in every existing engine by strict...thinking (believable!);
  2. Suggest needed design changes;
  3. Propose a new design;
  4. Present mathematical model of the new design that is free of the causes;
  5. Conclude
  6. be apologetic if your conclusion would pissed your professors still living in XIX century technology of Otto and Diesel inventions
