VCb Bushing

10/20/2010 9:27 AM

what is the reason for 11 Kv Vaccum circuit Breaker Bushing to crack down often. The transformer is 500 KVA. Even though the DO fuse melts, the bushing of VCB blows out.

WHAT IS THE MAKE VOLTAGE GRADING AND BIL OF VCB ?

CHECK THE BIL OF THE VCB FOR A 11KV UNEARTHED SYSTEM THE BIL SHOULD BE 28/75KVp.

NO BUSHING SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH A LOWER BIL.

REGULARLY CHECK THE CLEANLINESS OF THE BUSHING AND SURROUNDINGS AS DUST AND MOISTURE CREATES TRACKING PATH.

CHECK THE BASE PAINTINGS AROUND THE BUSHINGS PERIFERRY.

AFTER EVERY OVERHAUL GO FOR A AC HIGH VOLTAGE TEST FOR THE ENTIRE VCB ALONG WITH THE BUSHING.

REFER THIS TO THE MANUFACTURER.
