Chainsaw Repair

i need to fix the recoil spring on a husquavarna xp chainsaw. it retracts until i screw it in place. once i pull the drawstring it wont retract wtf am i doing wrong???

Check the pulley , I recently had the same problem. Turned out to be the pulley was cracked around the hub on the back side , that caused it to drag against the housing and not retrack when installed. Bought a new one on e bay for a couple bucks. Hope that helps you out.

Put some washers between the pulley and the body of the chainsaw, so that it gives the pulley a bit of space to move; As long as it still engages with the flywheel it should work.
