Intel Extreme 2 Graphics Driver

Hi Everyone,

I have recently upgraded my laptop (Packard Bell Easynote R4622) to Windows 7 Ultimate, from Windows XP Pro. Everything works except the graphics driver will install, but not run. Intel don't offer a driver for the I852GM, and selecting the option to run compatability wizard doesn't help either. I was wondering if anyone knew of any drivers which will work for it, or if the originals can be somehow adapted?

Hi there Bondy glad you're moving onto better computing and that you are well. First go to http://www.filebuzz.com/findsoftware/Intel_Montara_Gml_I852gm/1.html Use the Vista driver and save to the desktop, then in Device Manager delete the current driver, reboot. Then open driver saved to desktop and presto the operating system should load it.

Hi BWire, thanks for the link; but it seems intent on downloading an installation utility to scan my system for drivers. Hmm. And I have looked upon Intel's website, it seems as though there are only drivers available for Windows XP or earlier, and Linux. Think a Linux one could work?

In regards to your better computing; I still have Windows XP pro on my desktop, I did install windows 7, but soon deleted it again because I didn't really see the benefits for my desktop.
