3 Phase Brushless Generator Exciter Coil

hi all,

on ac three phase brushless generator, i saw some exciter stater with two coils, one is 14 ohms and the other is 29 ohms, 4 wires are coming out.

does any body of you guys seen something like it? and why you think they are two coils instead of one?
