Put a gallon in. Record odometer. Drive car until it stops. Record odometer. Subtract first reading from second; the result is your mileage per gallon.

If you prefer, use 1 liter; result is km/liter.

I assume you are looking for fuel efficiency, as the car will consume the fuel you put in it (using recommended fuel for your vehicle) no matter how much you put in.

1) Fill up the tank

2) write down the odometer reading (or zero out the trip odometer)

3) Drive until the tank is close to empty, then fill up again (this is the amount of fuel consumed)

4) Write down the amount of fuel put in and the odometer reading

5) divide the difference between the second odometer reading and the first by the amount of fuel required to fill up the second time (step 3). This is would be your fuel efficiency in miles/gallon or km/liter.

My word, there are so many things that come to my mind. I will give you the first 2.

First, I believe the 2009 Mazda 6 has an on-board fuel cunsumption consuption consumption display. On the instrument display, select the consumption value desired, and read it off of the display.

Second, we are used to college students looking for help with homework, but we get very few 7th grade students looking for help.

Fill the tank and just let the engine tick over untill it runs out if fuel.

Whist doing this count how meany times the engine has turnt over (the number of reverloutions until he tank is empty)

Then carry out the next test by driving the car untill the tank is empty. and also count the number of reverlutions it took to empty the tank.

Then try traveling at sixty miles an hour to see how long the tank runs dry, and also count the number of reverlutions it takes.

Then try traveling at 80 miles per hour and doing as above.

then let us know the results.

Thank you.
