Loss of Color on my TV

My television had lost it's color and now everytime I switch on it is on black and white. can someone tell me what the problem is and how to solve it?

You know we can't possibly do anything without the Model #, Serial #, and Date of manufacture.

If we don't get that information, you'll be staring at that flippin' red dot forever.

Many of us here - even you yourself - can tell you what the problem is: ".... now everytime I switch on it is on black and white". The solution is more tricky.

1) Check the signal input connector.

2) See #2.

Have you tried tv land, I Love Lucy, Leave It To Beaver, Andy Griffith and many others look great in black and white.

Also, unless the fix takes less than 15 minutes and parts, (which you won't be able to find), cost less than $50, you can get a new tv for less than repair...............I've been there.

The problem is that it is broken.

Without any further information the only thing that comes to mind is that you are using an S-video source and the chrominance channel is bad somehow. Check/replace the cable. (As opposed to composite video, which uses a single connection for both color and brightness signals, S-video uses two connections : Luminance for brightness and chrominance for the color)

Replace the color cartridges.......or your son might be sold the color Tv and replaced a similar black/white.
