Please explain in further detail!

Amprobe and other companies can provide radio frequency 'live' circuit line detectors (above 24vac), as well as some other companies supplying similar detectors that can 'sense' an open wire problem (on a 'dead' circuit) behind 'soft' walls, or to approx. 6' below ground level, depending, of course, on the the type of soil, as well as the hardness (iron content), and the moisture content of the soil.

Please note; that if a circuit wire that is desired to be detected, is in metallic conduit, or buried in or behind thick reinforced concrete, it is almost impossible to detect without powerful ultrasonic or X-ray detection methods.

It is very dependent, upon which detection system you do finally purchase, what voltage level you are seeking to seek and follow, as well as if it is A.C, or D.C. (Alternating Current as differing from Direct Current).

For further explaination, please consult Google Searches for reference about electrical theory & phenomenon, and strongly suggest to your friends, that they do the same. - Good Luck - and please let us all know how you made out! - Loupy
