Motor Selection

12/02/2010 4:58 AM

we are making a rotating screen for screening of coke.the total weight of rotating screen is 400 kg & screening material weight is around 200 kg,we are using a gearbox having gear ratio 70:1, & we are using prime mover motor having capacity 3.7 kw rpm-970.

so i want to know that is this motor capable for bearing this load?

if no then how we calculate the exat motor power?

This is what an Engineer does for a living, perhaps you should hire one. Free forums like this are for Engineers to help each other get over minor hurdles in problems they are having, it should not be construed as a substitute for hiring an Engineer who can observe all of the factors that would go into this decision..

If we explain you the calculation here, the engineering firms who working in this field will go jobless. Or incompetent persons will enjoy the life with the help of somebody.
