Thin Spacers Needed for Shock

12/08/2010 5:13 PM

Does anyone know where, in Montreal, I could get a few hundred spacers that are about 21mm X 8mm X 0.2mm??

I'm stumped! I need them for the inside of a hydro-damped shock and shipping times from the US is months.... Anyone?

They kinda have to be 303SS because of reasons that I'm just not going to get into because of the month long discussion it will involve, but I'm dying here with the 2-3 month lead times between orders.... So I'll take ideas and maybes!

Thanks everyone, (love coming in here!)

I suppose you have looked for .008 inch shim stock. I don't do metric. There are hardware stores here in the USA that carry the stuff and will sell you a small quantity. You'd have to cut it yourself. A paper cutter should work.

Boy, you have sort of a tough one there.

303 is generally not available in sheet; min thickness I have seen is 4.8mm (3/16") Combine that with the small quantity, and you have a pretty tight supply request.

lynlynch has a pretty good idea with shim stock, if you can find in 303.

I could punch them for you. Once the tool is made ( 3 days ) I could have 500 pcs. made in 2 hours, and shipped that same day.
