Install Welding Boss on Fittings?

Install a welding boss as drain or vent for a certain fittings such concentric or eccentric reducer? is there any restriction to weld on fittings? If yes please can you direct me to that Standard?

It would surely depend entirely on the usage? Pressure mostly?

There is no problem in doing this.

You will not find a standard that gives permission for this.
