new guitar amp

03/23/2007 9:11 PM

I am a musician looking for a schematic for a guitar amp that's light weight with one 12" speaker, studio quality, and enough wattage to rumble an average living room on a saturday night jam session.

Hi Kevin,

We had a previous discussion about this just a few days ago. I'm guessing the original post from a guest was yours? Check the link, there are some pretty good suggestions.

I used to service amps for a living, you want a light weight unit including the 12" speaker. You don't say but is this a bass amp? Because of the weight of the speaker and the power transformer you will find that most amps of a given out put will weigh much the same.A 50 watt combo unit whether solid state or valve will be within a few ounces of each other. I have lifted hundreds of such units. Ask any sound guy or roady they will be your best adviser.
