I believe all metals are conductors...
Stainless steel certainly is.

It depends what you want to conduct.

It's OK for heat and electricity, but is a poor conductor of light and won't conduct water at all. That is unless you somehow shape the stainless steel into a form that surrounds a hole, and then it will "conduct" both light and water handily.

For best electrical/thermal conductivity you can't beat silver.

You should really try to do a little independent research before you ask us to do your homework for you.

I'm marking this OT to save someone else the work.

Diamond is not a good conductor of electricity, but heat.

Are you conducting an orchestra or electricity?

Here you ask about conductors in the previous post you ask about copper lugs then you ask about reluctance. Are you building something or is this for school?

Geeze, what a bunch of hard cases! It is an ELECTRICAL forum after all.

Malar,

EVERYTHING is a "conductor" at some level, some things are better than others. Stainless steel is not considered a "good" electrical conductor when compared to other metals such as copper, aluminum, gold etc., even regular steel, but it will conduct. So f you are standing barefoot on a stainless steel plate on th ground and make contact with a live wire, you will get shocked, maybe even electrocuted. But if you make a bus bar out of stainless steel, you will be disappointed in the performance, lots of losses.

I find it extremely difficult to take questions of this caliber seriously.

They are a total waste of band width. Not to mention that it also might take time away from answering a REAL question.

No insult intended but most of us here tend not to respond favorably to school or homework questions. Students should be expected to do their own work.

I know. Some days I feel generous though...

And on this one it was difficult to tell. We have had a couple of people ask similar questions because they wanted to make some sort of terminal post that was going to be exposed to weather etc.
