Widows XP help

12/21/2010 10:08 AM

Dear friends.

My computer got blue star from Microsoft and it says "software validity problem".

I got a new copy of Widows XP to replace the old one without loosing the files inside, but the software doesn't accept the upgrade because of the blue star.

Is there any way to remove the blue star.

Thanks for help.

Go to your "C" drive then open the "Windows" folder. Inside there is a folder called "System32", go in there and find the files named WgaTray.exe and wgalogon.dll. Right click on them and click rename and then rename them to WgaTray1.exe and wgalogon1.dll. Now hit CTRL, ALT, DELETE to start up your Task Manager. Click on the tab called "Processes" and right-click on the process called WgaTray.exe. and click "End Process". A window might come up asking you if you're sure you want to end the task or process, just click "OK" if it does. Now restart your computer and the Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications will magically disappear.
