Any Electrical Susbtation in India Used 3G for SCADA Communication with FRTUs?

For small application we use embedded systems and not personal computer or intel-core7 in India. I hope you get the point.

I'm no expert on 3G comms, but am thinking of a few things:

1. 3G (here in South Africa anyway) does not always perform at advertised speeds. It depends on the number of users. So you may want to have a large reserve bandwith window. ALso, as other people start using the 3G network it may start slowing down.
2. If you are in an a area with multiple network providers, then at least you can change very easily should the current provider slip up.
   
3. Sometimes the cell phone networks are interrupted by lightning during storms. If your equipment needs resetting or close monitoring during such incidents, you may be stuck and should not go for 3G alone.
4. Don't go for capped accounts - you may become "blind" at very inopportune moments!
