No, it is 1,811 feet, or 552 meter. The winner by 2 meters.

You are correct.

What's the prize?

Like so much in our rule 75 original post, the prize is undefined.

Not a lot of incentive to do someone else's work.

I believe he used the LynDoor™ Industries Bridge Data Generator (BDG 31.7).

The BDG software is used to generate bridge profile design, gathering information from mystical sources about soil conditions, weather history, traffic patterns, and water traffic. This information must be filtered through the SAMWICH® device (using only one slice of baloney) originally developed by Lyndoor™ Labs for the decompression of supervelocity light. These data can be used to create ready to construct from documents for a new vehicle traffic bridge. It also stores information about every existing bridge in the world for comparison.

Or, he simply made a wild a$$ guess.

Will you tell us, is this homework? When you answer, PLEASE turn off your capital letter lock. It is difficult to read.

In the meantime, here is an image of the bridge. It is beautiful.

Well, Hassan did ask politely (nice to see some of that). And if it is homework, which I think it is, it sounds like junior high school, perhaps younger. I see no sense beating him up too badly.

I am getting to be an older softie... birthday #53 next week.

It's a "trussed arch" bridge.

Is the image not a through arch bridge?

Nonetheless, our rule 75 OP made no specification about through arch, truss arch, deck arch, bowstring, simple stone...

I still think it is 1,811 feet. I want that prize!

We don't help students do their homework assignments....please read the CR4 rules of engagement!

Crack open your assigned textbook, and start reading and learning.

There' got to be a way to screen these students out of the soup mix! Any suggestions guys and gals?

CaptMoosie, I don't mind helping a student if there is a concept that is not well understood. Sometimes instructors cover a section of their course pretty fast in a belief that all students will 'get it'. Nobody gave the name or location of the subject bridge. That is (probably) one segment of the question being asked by the instructor. I will be honest, I did not know the answer to the question posed, but discovered the answer within one minute of reading the question.

Here, there is no real concept to understand or grasp, just do some research. I believe we are contemporaries, you and I; when I was given homework with questions like this, it usually meant hitting the books at the library. With the internet, there is no reason or excuse to have a homework question like this be turned in with a blank line.

How to keep them out of the soup? I don't know if we can. I am likewise not certain that we should... this is an engineering discussion forum. And, Lyndoor™ Industries has few opportunities to advertise our ridiculous products without them asking homework questions!
