Calculate Electric Field Generated by Charge

01/14/2011 6:37 AM

I have an elctrical charge in the air and below it I have a container filled with water. How do I calculate the electric field generated by the charge on the bottom of the container? Bear in mind the electrostatic constant in water is different than from air.

What is the conductivity of the water? What is the altitude? What is the relative humidity? Is the "electrical charge in the air" + or - ? What color are your socks?

Study and learn Electrostatics and the underlying math required. These are some of the important basic building blocks needed for the science and engineering fields.
