Automotive Engineering Video - Interesting or lame?

01/20/2011 11:00 AM

ENGINEERING.com published this video on Automotive Design today. http://www.engineering.com/Videos/ProductDesignChannel/VideoId/2528/Engineering-Your-Pimped-Up-Ride.aspx

It's supposed to be funny and interesting. It's 4 minutes. Do you think it's any good?

JHayes,

That's a very dangerous question.

I thought it sucked. But, I'm an old man.

I believe a younger, duller audience might find it amusing.

Thanks for spending the time on it. Does "sucked" = uninformative, juvenile, uninteresting? And does "old man" = somebody who can pay attention for more than 4 minutes and appreciates a more informative treatment of the subject matter?

Yes, and yes.

It would help if we knew why you want to know. Did you make it? Write it? Star in it?

Is it part of some ad campaign?

Didn't mean to keep my identity secret. I work for ENGINEERING.com and we are looking for ways to make this series better.

All of us "netizens" are going to see a lot more video on the Internet in 2011 and beyond, so I would love to learn and share with others how to make video content that doesn't suck.

Thanks a ton for your feedback. And btw - don't watch This Week in Engineering. You'd hate it!

All I can say is that if your target market is people on this forum, you will at least get an honest evaluation of the product.

It seems to me to be aimed at a much younger market than we have here.

Good Luck.
