New Patented Wind Power Technique

03/29/2007 3:36 PM

My Pat.p is now ok and I like to be in connection with serious people and Manufactoring people as well.

So what I gonna do is to engage my selfe with this people and Invest in that companie or group of people my self included my patent.

This my innovation are now valued to 100 millions USD.

Placed on the see it´s 4-5 meter high and 4-5 meter in diameter and will deliver 1 megawatt from windspeed of 2 meter per sec. and the same power even when the wind will be stormy.

If there is utterly people interested I´m open for discussions and outterly solutions, thank´s.

"This my innovation are now valued to 100 millions USD."

OTOH it isn't worth a nickel unless and until you can sell, lease, or implement an installation of many units in a profitable installation.

"Placed on the see it´s 4-5 meter high and 4-5 meter in diameter and will deliver 1
megawatt from windspeed of 2 meter per sec. and the same power even when the wind will be stormy."

Why can your machine withstand excessive wind speeds encountered in storms while all other designs I know of have to 'feather' their props to prevent over-speeding and probable destruction?

Wind technology is great , but ;

" I have the patent on an innovative technology , and would like to discuss this with interested parties " sounds better in my (humble) opinion.

I do not criticize you language , but to get interest you need to be clear to potential financial backers. You may be the person who has a brilliant idea and it is important that it is heard . There are many threads on energy in this forum - if you use search (on the right ) you will find them and can engage in discussion with people who have specialist knowledge . You may find interest and advice from there. The way you express the value of your idea will put people off (it does not translate well in English language ). Better to tell people what your idea can do , and wait for their response. 'Value' is what some body will pay you in hard cash.

Good luck , Kris

Sorry, It won't work

Sorry, but your calculations are off somewhere.

The energy contained in the wind sweeping through a given area (defined by blade radius, R, at a velocity V, is given by:

where ρ is the density of the air. At 70oF and sea level, the air density is ~ 1.19 kg/m3. The energy units will be Watts if the other quantities are all in metric (m/s wind speed and meters for the blade radius).

So, the energy available for your turbine to capture with 5 m diameter blades and a 2 m/s wind speed is :

E = 1.19 * 1.57 * 2.52* 23 .... or about 750 Watts

on top of this, there's a law called Betz's law that states that the absolute maximum power that a wind turbine can extract from the wind is about 59% of what's available, which brings your output power down to about 442 Watts.

For the wind sweeping through a 5 meter diameter circle to contain a megawatt of energy, the wind speed would have to be 44 m/s or about 98 mph. That's hurricane force!

Back to the drawing board. Please do the basic math next time.

New Patented Wind Power Technique

"Sorry, but your calculations are off somewhere."

Another casualty or reality and engineering calculations!

Thermodynamics can't be cheated!

Steve: You provided the proof of non-viability.

Nice answer Steve . I'll note this one for future ref. Explained politely and factually . Great. There are always variables , but as a base point to 'common-sense' quick decision that is brilliant.

I do believe you are sorely in error and there are several verticle rotor designs already on the market.

Many inventors have questioned the logic of harnessing wind power by situating heavy gearboxes, generators, and rotor blades hundreds of feet in the air, as is the case for conventional horizontal wind turbines. One alternative design that does away with all these entities looks as though it is getting traction from both investors and a few potential customers.
